Departmental Use

Our compliance solution of thermal printers, barcode readers, labels and wristbands provides a cost effective way to meet HIPAA and JCHAO requirements for every hospital department.

Thermal printers provide an inexpensive means to facilitate barcoding initiatives because of lower printer costs and less waste than with sheet labels. Printers can be dispersed throughout all the nursing stations. The same printer can store multiple print stream data so it can be easily transported (low weight/size) and used immediately without new programming at another location. The off-line option allows the printing of labels and wristbands even if the system is down! Initial programming is handled by PatientWorks so the hospital does not need to outsource or involve their IT Department.

Lab

Addressograph® thermal label printers can emulate any standard printer and be dispersed throughout the hospital so labels do not have to be printed at the lab. Phlebotomists can print the specimen labels at the nurse's stations on the patient's floor. Fewer errors result when the labels are available at the stations.

Blood Bank

We provide 2 to 3 part labels to barcode all the blood and can use different barcodes on the same label.

Materials Management/Purchasing

Thermal printers provide an easy and inexpensive way to start barcoding initiatives. Labels on demand are less expensive than sheet labels and result in less waste. The print heads are less expensive than those from competitors.

Nursing

Thermal printers are very durable and easy to load. They hold a large amount of media so they require re-loading much less frequently.

Patient Accounts/Admissions

An inexpensive way to start barcoding. For the price of an embosser you can get two to three label/wristband printers which are easy to install and operate with off-line options available. The printers can connect to any system as long as a data-stream is available and can run on the same data-stream as the embossers.

Patient Safety/Compliance

Thermal printers make it easier to comply with JCAHO regulations by lowering error rates with barcoded patient IDs.

Pharmacy

An inexpensive way to start barcoding. We provide 2 to 3 part labels (1 label for medication, 1 label for paper work) and can customize the label layout to include any barcoding symbologies. Off-line options are available.

Radiology

Off-line options for the film (first name, last name, MR number) provide an easy way to identify the patient.

Shipping/Receiving

An inexpensive alternative to expensive competitor replacement print heads.
